Funeral Ceremony Of Emiliano Sala
The funeral ceremony of late Cardiff City striker, Emiliano Sala, will take place in his home town of progreso.
Sala’s body was found in the wreckage of the plane that went missing over the English channel. His remains was recovered undersea after an extensive search, though the pilot is still not yet found.
A post-mortem examination reveals severe injuries to his head and trunk. His body has been flown to Buenos Aires, for funeral scheduled to take place at 10:00 GMT, 16th February 2019.
The private funeral ceremony will host Cardiff city manager Neil Warnock and chief executive Ken Choo.
Other friends and dignitaries will also be present to pay their last respect.
The body will then be taken 44 miles to Santa Fe for cremation.
An emotional tribute is posted on facebook by his boyhood club San Martin de Progreso: ”We are waiting for you…like the first day you left but this time to stay with us forever.
”You went and you are an example for everyone. Eternally in our hearts.”
Sala’s former club Fc Nantes also paid tribute by wearing an all black kit with his name inscribed at the back for their ligue 1 clash with Nimes.
Its a painful and sorrowful moment both for his clubs, team mates, friends and family members near and far.
